There’s a Guy Sings Down the Beaufort, Swears He’s Elvis
He may have died almost 30 years ago, but The King’s appeal is very much alive and well, as was proven by the full-house that turned up for the Elvis Presley Tribute Night at the Beaufort Park Hotel, near Mold. In fact, such is his continued draw, tickets sold out an astonishing two months before the event!
Professional look and sound-a-like, Pete Sands, wowed the 200-strong crowd by belting out the big man’s classics, such as Hound Dog, Love Me Tender and Suspicious Minds.
Claire Armstrong, who was a member of the audience, said, “I’ve got bruises on my hands from clapping so much! Elvis’ picture is now up on my fridge – the best night out I’ve had in ages.”
In fact, the evening was so electric that the audience was still singing and dancing away even after Elvis had left the building.
“It was a really great evening for everyone and the atmosphere was definitely more ‘Viva Las Vegas’ than ‘Heartbreak Hotel’,” joked the Beaufort Park’s manager, Sue Warnock.
The Elvis Night is just the latest in a series of tributes the hotel has run, which have included Frank Sinatra, Robbie Williams and Elton John. The next – sure, once again, to be the hottest ticket in town – will be a Country & Western Tribute Night. For tickets, pop into the Beaufort Park Hotel or call 01352 758646.
