Hotel News - Students pick up cooking tips
DUTCH students descended upon the Beaufort Park Hotel to pick up tips from the chefs. 120 students from Holland aged between 18 and 40 years old attended workshops teaching the finer points behind traditional dishes from starters to main course, desserts and wine tasting. Visitors then tucked into the meal they helped prepare.
The visit was organised by the Dutch Ministry for Education, as part of an NVQ diploma which store managers need at Dutch company Jumbo Supermarken.
Co-ordinator of the event, Hans Splint, said: "I visited the Beaufort Park Hotel a little while ago on a study trip to Deeside College and thought it would be the ideal place to bring the students."
After their day in the kitchen, the students spent the rest of the visit taking part in cultural, sporting and team-building activities, as well as heading to Chester to see how the city's most successful stores were run.
Hotel manager Sue Warnock said: " They were a great group and it was a pleasure to take part in this scheme. We look forward to welcoming more students from Holland and further afield in the future."
