Hotel News - A Taste of Wales

A Sense of Wales

Wales is increasingly becoming a favoured tourism destination with people from all over the UK and the world alike, who are fascinated by the country’s ancient and mythological history.

Last week, a group of hotels and tourism outlets gathered at the Beaufort Park Hotel, in Mold, to find out how they could give visitors an extra special taste of Wales.

The Sense of Place workshop, organised and run by the Welsh Assembly, has for two years been educating businesses on Welsh history, language, culture and the country’s distinctive tourism qualities.

Last week, staff from, amongst others, the Beaufort Park Hotel, Holiday Inn and Bryn Awel, were given unique insights into the region’s distinctive foods and flavours, before being fascinated with stories of local fables and legends – everything to help them truly inspire and shape visitors’ stays in the country and have them racing back for more.

Sue Warnock, the manager of the Beaufort Park Hotel, who also took part in the workshop, said, “This was a truly stimulating workshop for our staff and it will help us to continue to surpass the expectations of the 300,000 visitors that come to Wales each year purely to explore our culture. We have to keep on trying hard to attract people to our amazing little corner of the world.
