Disability Policy

We aim to ensure that all employees, guests and others who use, or assist in, the provision of our services – whether they have a mobility difficulty, a visual impairment, are deaf or hard of hearing, are deaf-blind, have a speech impairment or difficulty, have a learning or mental health disability, use a wheelchair, cane, walking frame or crutches, or have any other disability – are treated equally and according to their needs.

All disabled guests and staff are to use the main entrance in to the hotel. The main entrance gives access to Guest Rooms, Public Bar and Function Rooms.

There is a same level disabled toilet located opposite the Westminster function rooms. This has good access. Grab rails and an emergency pull cord in case of difficulty. There is also ground floor same level toilet facilities located in the coffee shop area, adjacent to the Orchard Restaurant and opposite the Westminster Suite function Room.

There is accommodation on the ground floor consisting of 24 Twin Rooms 5 Standard Doubles 2 Executive Suites and 1 Executive Double. Corridors and Bedrooms are carpeted and bathrooms have slip resistant flooring. Although none of the rooms have specifically adapted bathrooms with walk in shower facilities, we do have a number of rooms which are ground floor with extra grab rails, wider doorways and turning spaces.

The hotel is used as a training base for “Guid Dogs for the Blind” and staff have had specific training to help visually impaired guests.

The main entrance to the hotel is accessed from the car park. There are 2 dedicated disabled parking spaces. A drop off area is immediately outside the hotel entrance and there are no steps into the building. Assistance with equipment and luggage is available 24/7.

There are no steps within the ground floor area of the reception, public bar, function rooms or ground floor guest rooms.

Throughout the public bar is a mix of carpeted area and exposed stone flooring.

The first floor has 73 accommodation rooms. The stairs to the first floor are accessed off the main reception area and there is no lift available.

Hotel staff are available to assist any persons that may require assistance with any aspect of their stay such as, check-in, porterage and help with menu’s.

Notice of Roadworks on New Brighton Road

Please be advised that Energetic Roadworks will be carrying out essential works on New Brighton Road due to the new housing estate over the road, This will commence on Monday, 21st July 2025. The hotel is expected to be most affected during Week 2 : Monday 28th July to Friday 1st August.

The works will involve partial road closures, but access to the hotel will be maintained at all times. Diversions will be in place, so we kindly recommend allowing extra time for your journey.

We have been informed that, full signage and diversion routes will be clearly displayed and Pedestrian access through the affected area will be maintained throughout the works.
